Better communication needed

Funny Barbados News BlogPresident of the Barbados Chamber of Commerce, Mark Thompson believes better communication between employers and employees is the solution to recent industrial unrest in Barbados. Speaking to the Business Report about plans for this year's private sector forum, Mr. Thompson said while the chamber has not done an official study on work stoppages across the public and private sectors, it is under the impression that both parties need to do more talking. Mr. Thompson says when workers go on strike the bottom line is affected. This year's private sector forum starts on April 19 at the Sherbourne Conference Centre. Traffic congestion, building standards and conflict resolution will be the items topping the agenda. Source: CBC TV
Here we go again. De men does come up with the most simple statements and it makes the news as if they are enlightening the public with divine thoughts from on high. Of course anytime somebody strikes, there is a break down of communication, or at least the end of it. That's like saying the solution for people to stop dying of diet related heart disease is to stop eating bbq pig tails, or the reason people get wet when it rains is because rain is water, and water wet, and they sometimes get in between the falling water and the ground... simply genius. But of course sometimes when you talk and talk and talk, the only time people tend to listen is when you take drastic action. But this comes from childhood.. you mudda tell you to clean de house, and 2 hours later it still dirty... one hard lash and de place spic and span, but you know you din' moving an inch til that sweet lash come, especially if Galaxy Rangers or Danger Mouse was showing. But everytime yuh look round, people striking like a box of matches, probably because there is too much communication, using lots of words beginning with F and others ending with HOLE. Well i guess in a case where rats and cockroaches are copulating in the work place, there isn't much else you can say.

*After reading this post, 9 persons will say some people had good reason to strike! Well, I suppose when the ZR drivers start striking because they are no longer able to drink Guinness on the job, their views will change.
