Another Passa Passa shooting

A 24-year-old man has been seriously wounded, in a shooting incident this morning in St. Michael. Police say Dwayne Omar Boyce, of 4th Avenue, Skeetes Road, The Ivy, was shot around 1:30 a.m., while at a "Passa Passa" street jam, at the Audrey Grant Pavilion' in Carrington Village. Boyce, who was shot in the abdomen, is now at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, in a serious but stable condition. This is the second shooting incident at a Passa Passa street jam - a form of entertainment that is fast becoming popular with young people in Barbados. Early on Friday morning, 28-year old Adrian Alleyne of Clapham Park, Christ Church, was shot in the back of the head, while at another Passa Passa event, outside the Clapham hard courts, and three other people were shot during the melee afterwards. The "2nd" shooting at Passa Passa... Yes, he was shot BEACAUSE he went to Passa Passa! NO OTHER REASON! Passa Passa is violent, young people are violent, the music at Passa Passa encourages shooting and promiscuous activities... in fact, Passa Passa gave him the gun, gave him a motive, trained him from the time he was 6 to be a bad boy and massaged his index finger before he pulled the trigger. Your very presence at Passa Passa puts you at risk of becoming criminally insane!! Prior to Passa Passa, these poor lads were all saints, helping the poor and elderly, volunteering at the local hospital and doing charitable works... Passa Passa is the devil! If you ban Passa Passa, the violence will cease! Tsk tsk tsk... how many people die every year due to more easily avoidable, goverment allowed/approved things, like smoking cigarettes and alcohol consumption? But that is OK right? I never see headlines say... "Today, another 15 irresponsible persons over 40 have turned their lungs into shrivled up california raisins by using cigarettes. They died after doctors had to leave a little boy with asthma and a woman giving birth, to try to save the human chimneys. This now brings our total cigarette related deaths up to 82 for the year. Today is January 2nd." Such a SILLY SILLY policy to put that Surgeon General's warning on the cigarette packs. That's like forcing each KFC box to say, "The Health Minister Advises Against Eating Too Much Greasy Chicken". Yet still allowing 8,328 restaurants to sell snack boxes, each containing 12 chicken pieces, with a free straw to drink up the grease that settles. I gine hear how people got a right to smoke, but last time I checked, suicide was illegal. I gine hear how it is dem own business, it's not like shooting somebody... i suppose if they were smoking in a cave, or a sealed box where they can enjoy the toxic fumes alone, it would be fine. But not when dem blowing it in my face, and then i gotta get over a 2nd hand smoke addiction by wearing a nicotine patch... and dem does got yuh clothes smelling like roast breadfruit that somebody puke 'pon. Anyhow, we gotta stop the problem from the root and stop pointing fingers at the symptoms. Based on their report, I guess if yet ANOTHER unemployed, disgruntled and criminal minded rebel were to rob people who live in the Heights, there is only one solution... bulldoze all the houses in the heights because they encourage people to thief! Problem solved!

*After reading this post, 238 persons will say cigarettes are fine, at least it isn't weed. Sure sure... tell me which weed man smokes 2 packs of 20 spliffs a day.. then tell me WHICH ONE is more addictive? That's 1 cigarette every 24 minutes if they get 8 hours sleep... woooo
