Jobs for recovering addicts

Recovering drug addicts are going to have some help to get back into the work force. News of this from labour minister Rawle Eastmond, who believes the only way the challenges faced by drug addicts will be eased, is for them to find gainful employment. Mr. Eastmond made the comments during a job fair at the Central Bank and says the programme could be launched as early as next month. Mr. Eastmond says just the thought of being able to work greatly reduces the risk of addicts experiencing a relapse during work. This he says makes it even more necessary for them to have a job. Let me see... they are unemployed school leavers, single parents and even UWI students in Barbados, but Mr. Miracle worker here is going to find jobs for drug addicts? Well it is obviously a plus to help them to kick the habit, but it sounds a bit too unrealistic for me... while he's at it, he might as well stop global warming, irradicate world poverty and turn Mia into a woman... *poof*. Next thing he gine snap he fingers and greenland will turn into a lush bed of fragrant petunias. Where is he going to find these jobs... i dont think people are exactly eager to have addicts in their offices. Some might say put them in construction... some nice hard work, sweat it out... i suppose, but yuh might come back and find that all the Marl get chip up fine fine fine and somebody sniffing it, just too risky. People talk about addictions, but what about cigarettes? Every 2 minutes dem going outside to take a few puffs, only to end up with lungs that blacker that Whoopi Goldbergs lips... all is addiction. Just that cigarettes cheaper, so you dont necessarily have to sell your pooch to get a few loose ones. Well, kudo's to him for having the ability to fool bajans into thinking that he is Munford the Magician off sesame street... and for my next trick... Ala Peanut Butter Sandwiches.... *^POOF^* Courts computer prices are now reasonable! Ooops.. just a lot of smoke.
