Stone throwing at the QEH

Funny Barbados News BlogFor a brief moment it was a scary situation for patients and staff at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Two employees of the QEH were injured this morning following a rock-throwing incident. The two QEH workers were treated and discharged from the Accident and Emergency Department following the stone throwing incident this morning.. Corporate Communications Specialist, Karen Byer says that around eleven o'clock a man and his female companion went to the phsiotherapy department to collect a patient when an ambulance discharging patients, was blocking their path.
Ms Byer says they called in the police but the man who allegedly threw the stone managed to escape and is now being sought by lawmen.... Because of the incident, the QEH is reviewing its security measures to ensure that something like this doesn't occur again. Source: CBC Channel 8
Well, I suppose there really isn't a better place to be stoned but outside the QEH... well maybe the FMH.. but we all know you will be referred to the QEH after they finish taking your money. So the QEH staff were treated at the A&E and discharged... I wonder how long they had to wait. Probably got a cut on their arm but were dispatched before the kid who was puking his guts out for the last 3 days... you know, flash the little staff pass. Wait though, just the other day didn't someone try to shoot somebody else in the QEH? Big ting on TV and in the papers, about how dem gine step up security etc etc... Oh, i get it... they are pepared for a man brandishing a 357 Magnum with the abilty to pierce body armour, but an ordinary nutter throwing rocks is just out of their league. Seems that anything that involves the QEH makes the news... i'm sure at least 10 little boys got their heads burst at school today and aint get no publicity at all. Do you notice how the Corporate Communication Specialist was called in to relay the rock throwing incident to the public? Ahh yes.. obviously these things need to be delivered with eloquence and style that only a seasoned speaker with years of experience can provide... I wonder how much she is paid.

*After reading this post, 53 persons will wait at least 10 hours in the QEH casualty before they see a doctor. At least it's free eh?
