Referee changes mind about red card
How embarassing! Out of pure shame that red card should have stood. Now this will justify the, what was before pointless, arguing of footballers against the, once considered absolute, decision of a referee. Can you imagine this happening in the English Premier League or La Liga? LOL.. i could hear the Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho with his accent now.... "The referee... if he was sick.. should have sought medical attention and uhh.. let his wife pat his head with a warm towel while he enjoyed the game from a QEH hospital bed." Oh well, it is only the Barbados Premier League so... no big money involved, no extremist fans, no death threats... hopefully. Referees are human so I GUESS they are allowed to make mistakes.. although one time I saw a referee whip out a red card and send of a man for a foul tackle. After the man went off, he noticed the victim of the tackle, who before was squealing like he just had his balls whacked with a meat tenderizer, was now hopping about the field and skinning he mout. So the referee whip out a yellow card for diving. Amazing... lol.. send off one guy, but acknowledged that the other guy was lying about the serverity of the challenge. I guess blind and sick referees are who make the game controversial and worth watching!THERE WAS A RARE CASE of a footballer receiving a red card but still getting the green light to continue playing....
Experienced FIFA-accredited referee Mark "Bob" Forde issued a red card to Youth Milan's captain Michael Forde but then had a change of heart, and gave his namesake a yellow card. The controversial incident came in the 65th minute with the scores locked 1-1 when the Youth Milan striker charged towards Paradise's defender Henderson "Blues" Best, who was wearing colourful green boots. There was no contact between the two opposing players but referee Forde, who was not feeling well and even had to stop the game at one stage to leave the field, pulled the dreaded red card from his pocket. He was then surrounded by the player's protesting teammates and after speaking to both camps, just cautioned Forde. After the game, the referee admitted he made a mistake and noted he was free to change a decision once he had not restarted the game. Source: Nation News
