ITS THE PITS!
Wait, dem still got pit toilets in bim? Well we can punish dem landlords and make a little game show out of it... make them clean out de toilets, but with their hands tied behind their back, using nothing but their mouths to scoop up the little brown cakes. Wuh I would like to find one of those 1 bedroom houses for $500 that he talkin 'bout, cause these days that kinda money would only give yuh a box and a piece of tarpolean. Nowadays, people like dem does just dig a hole, put a piece uh sponge in it and calling it a 1 bedroom apartment. One time I went to look at this $650 a month apartment in West Terrace... woman car me around to the yard, show me a door that like it was 6 feet below ground level. Ok, gone inside now, no paint on the walls, and a concrete slab about 2 feet from the ceiling... telling me how I could put a matress on there and sleep. :| Err.. in that case, you can put your eye by my lips so i can spit in it. Wuh i wouldn't even keep pigs in dey... Indian landlord mussy feel I begging for a lodging in Calcutta, or immigrating from down the islands. But you know what, they should make a law so that landlords wouldn't be so GYPSY! One landlord telling me how the last tenant use to wash clothes in the bathtub.. he tell she stop it, but one day he went peeping, and see she doing it again. What I does be hearing at all... next thing he gine be peeping to see if she still pulling nuff current by using that 9 inch bunny-ears kitty vibrator with rotating shaft after watching desparate housewives.TO COUNTER UNSCRUPULOUS LANDLORDS "seeking to extricate every single cent", Government must regulate spiralling home rents and outlaw rental of premises with pit latrines. These suggestions were made by former Minister of Social Transformation Hamilton Lashley, now Government's advisor on poverty eradication and achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). "You have unscrupulous landlords in Barbados who rent one-bedroom houses at $750 and $650 and $500 a month, and the houses are in a dilapidated condition."You have situations in Barbados where a man with a four-bedroom house is renting out each bedroom separately at $300 a week per person, $200 a week per person, and the whole situation is getting terribly out of control." He said some landlords were pushing rental units beyond the reach of the average Barbadian and adversely impacting on Government's drive to eradicate poverty. The MP for St Michael South East also criticised landlords who failed to upgrade their toilet facilities and refused tenants permission to build a water toilet. "No Barbadian should be disallowed from having access to water-borne facilities."..."The challenge is that a lot of these properties are owned by persons out of Barbados."Source: Nation News
*After reading this post, 328 persons will pay $950 to rent a 1 bedroom apartment. They will complain rent is too high, then go and pay $40 at Extreme to relieve some stress.. only to be kicked out because their pants was too big, and their shirt wasn't tight enough.
