New buses for park-and-ride

Funny Barbados News BlogMajor improvements are imminent in Barbados' public transport system. Seventy buses, ordered by the transport board from Brazil, are expected here by December. Public Works Minister, Gline Clarke, says the additional buses, costing twenty-two million dollars, will be used for a park-and-ride system, as well as to improve service to schools. But the minister, who assumed responsibility for the board, in a recent cabinet reshuffle, says this new fleet is not enough, and government is looking to private sector vehicle operators to make up the shortfall. Mr. Clarke says government has already approached PSV operators who are keen to become part of the national bus service. He says the board is currently operating with about a hundred and forty buses while another eighty are being serviced... Mr. Clarke says he is also concerned about security at the bus terminals across the island. He says this country has to be one of the few places in the world where people congregate in a bus terminal and do not want to take a bus. General Manager, Ian Jessamy revealed long-range plans to tighten security and stamp out vandalism on the buses. Source: CBC Evening News
Well Clarkey boh, they congregate cuz it is one of the few bus terminals in the world where you could buy a Banks and a portion of pie. It's just funny... buy buses, then they get vandalized, brek down on the potholed roads... solution.. buy more of course, there's enough quality potholes and ingrunt drivers to mash up nuff more. And what about those buses that came with a trial copy of A/C units.. after 30 days they expired without refund. Them still with this park and ride thing? Who wants to use the current bus system anyways? It WILL be Crowded, Bumpy and Late... wait, that sounds like a woman with herpes that got pregnant at an orgy. You really feel I paying road tax, insurance and investing in a sweet 2 seater to leff it in some car park and then gotta put my kidnapped spinner rims on a milk carton? I'm sure there are some very simple low cost methods which can be adopted, but why think when we can pay consultants to come up with high priced, overly complicated solution. You remember how much that red gritty stuff did cost, you know, the stuff so you wouldn't slide on the roads when it wet? Then do you remember that when the same rain drizzled, it get wash way like cherry koolaid. Oh well, throw your hands in the air and move on, or beat your head agaist the proverbial post until your skull looks like a caved in boxy... whatever tickles your arms. They could really do someting sensible.. invest in some of those London Double Decker buses.. of course it might pop way some electricity cables and bring down some trees... but wait, you want to get home or you want electricity? schupes.. Lets count the days to see how long these buses last before they are reduced to a Coney Island Ride... fast, bumpy and does make you want to puke.

Afte reading this post, 38 person will say dem didn't even know we once had Air Conditioned buses... oh.. well, you probably didn't take the bus for the month that they were working.
