Skimpy costumes
I thought revellers running around in T-backs and rain falling on the bra-less, t-shirt wearing chicks was the very essence of crop over. Cover up? Next thing you will have to wuck up at least 12 inches behind a woman, but I sure for 1 or 2 men, that still means contact. But WHY oh WHY would a costume ever cost $200??? You wearing it one day... you will NEVER wear it again. If you spend that $200 on a prostitute she'll give you something you can keep for the rest of your life... probably gotta pay another $200 to get rid of it.... "Festival is our time, to jump up and unwind, and do the things that we, would not do normally"... well, not do in the open anyway. I like that band last year that had a weight limit imposed so that fat people couldn't join... I mean if you gine got people dressing skimpily, at least be responsible and ban the sousy whales from unfairing a thong in public... let them join the Bath & Shower section of the band, portrayed by wearing a bed sheet and a shower cap. But dem should cover up tho, sun hot hot hot. Yuh gine gotta leave home with a bag to store the skin that peeling off. But i guess nobody don't study that when dem waist pelting... Oh well, do as the advert says, when you go to crop over, TAKE A CONDOM.. cuz although it is not sexually provocative, for some strange reason, some one might slip and fall on you... over and over again. Well, even if they continue wear next to nothing, at least make it manditory that Doug Hoyte wear a shirt.. i tired uh seeing he hairy belly every year.. this round i gine walk with a pin and deflate it.As Barbados prepares to host another Crop Over festival, the matter of skimpy costumes and the price to play mass, are issues already engaging the attention of one local group. The Barbados Association of Masqueraders says it is working with partners to ensure its pricing is reasonable, and to keep Kadooment revelry clean. The band leaders say they have tried to keep costume prices at an average of $200 for years, but like almost everything else the cost to wear one of these artistic pieces has been steadily rising over the years...But the organisation may find it more difficult to prevent some revelers from wearing costumes which cover little. This was a major topic at Trinidad’s carnival this year and is likely to be raised at other carnivals around the Caribbean. Source: Skimpy Costumes
*After reading this post, 382 persons will pay $260 to join a band. Costume: $9. Admin Fees: $240. 1 Drink & Bag of Chips: $11. The skimpy costume strap popping on live TV, exposing your 2 mosquito bites for the whole of Barbados to see and pee demselves laughing.... priceless.
