NUPW: Raw deal for QEH staff
Well, if the monkeys running the place were given enough nuts and treats, they would probably stop scratching and sniffin, and actually do some work. I notice that Barbados just recycles news, instead of going out and investigating, they just read last week's paper and elabourate a bit further... or one Newspaper reads the other one, and changes up the wording and uses a photo from a different angle. Every week, something about the QEH, something about CWC, something about nothing. Why doesn't the QEH sit down, listen to and take note of the complaints of staff, and work on solving each issue one by one internally. Oops, that would make sense and the Nation paper would be reduced to the size of an Archie comic selling for 20cent... we can't have that. We all done know that it is a friends thing... if you aint friends wid de body dat hiring the QEH temp maids, your cakes burn. So stop training, stop studying, and start frenzing... wait, you want to actually know what you are doing, or you want the job? CHOOSE MAN!THE National Union of Public Workers (NUPW) has complained that long-standing temporary maids and other ancillary workers at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) are getting a raw deal from Government. The "rule of thumb" that those workers would be asked to fill slots created by vacation, sick and study leave and other factors was not being followed, the union's Senior Industrial Relations Officer, Roslyn Smith, has stated. "Since the transition (to a board running the hospital) of September, 2005, the relief workers have not been given employment," Smith complained. She said, however, that the openings were being filled with people brought in "off the street"... She said about 12 people who had worked with the QEH several years were affected by the "sudden shift from the norm". Source: Nation News
*After reading this post, 338 people will yawn at this boring post. Well, it was either this, or I write about the NORTH POINT RESORT being up for sale... I yawned louder at the resort article, so this one won.
