WHY CAN'T WE PARK on Miami Beach?

This was the cry of several beachgoers yesterday who found themselves having to park above the popular Enterprise, Christ Church beach and walk to the sandy shores for fun and frolic. The path where vehicles used to drive onto the beach has been blocked by a chain since work started there last December.
"No one drives where people lay down so why they have us lock out? Turtles don't nest here so they can't use that excuse. People used to flock here but now it looks deserted," said George Yearwood. Anna Hammond, who has been going to the beach for 17 years, said she was not getting satisfactory answers from the NCC. "One time we were told they had to spread sand. Another time we were told they didn't like having to clean up the condoms left at night.".... Peter Bentham, one of those who tried to save 20-year-old Robert Barrow who drowned a few weeks ago at the beach, said the ambulance had trouble getting onto the beach as the emergency personnel could not find anyone with the key to unlock the chain. "Unless they can give me a good reason, I think it should be removed. If there is an emergency it takes too long to find the key," he said. Source: Barbados Nation News

Bajans does do as dem like. One morning you get up and go to the beach and everything ok, next day... CHAIN UP! Nobody ain't put out a public notice, no sign, no warning, nuttin! If somebody was to see the chain now, assume that it was put up by lawless vagabonds, and CUT it in the interest of public access... dem would get drag by the police. Man dem full of excuses. Tired of cleaning up condoms?? If that were the case, dem woulda put a iron gate around Brandon's Beach eversince. At least they are using condoms, when you see none, then get worried. The government sending conflicting messages though... one minute they want you to stop doing the horizontal boogie on the beach, next minute they begging you to "Park and Ride". The article also made a good point, that you can't find the key when an emergency vehicle needs to come through:
"HELP.. somebody DROWNING... "
Yea? Wuh leh me see if I cuh find uh NCC porter to let the ambulance come through.
"De boy need medical attention, harry up!"
Look, don't confuse me! He gotta hold on like anybody else! De porter gone to buy a snocone and come back, so try and blasted wait! He feel cuz he drowning that he special?

Of course under such pressure, the porter gine be fumbling and can't tell the keys from the snocone straw. My advice, move the chain during the day, put it back at night and let people pay to come through and do dem ting. Provide bins for de johnnies (the condoms, not the people) and use the thousands of dollars earned to help beautify the beach.
