ROAD DIG

Funny Barbados News Blog Road WorksFORMER MINISTER OF PUBLIC WORKS Rommell Marshall has lambasted Government's road works programme.
Addressing constituents of his St Michael West Central branch at the Grazettes Resource Centre yesterday, the Government backbencher described the situation where roads were being dug up in St Michael, Christ Church, St Joseph and other parishes as nothing short of "poor planning".
Major road enhancement programmes are being undertaken along a number of key roads leading into Bridgetown, including Wildey, Lower Collymore Rock, Belmont Road, Spooners Hill and Barbarees Hill all in St Michael..... He said before a road works programme was carried out, one must not only take the economy into consideration, but the livelihood of hundreds of working Barbadians who could lose their jobs because of repeated lateness. "Digging digging up, digging digging up barber green..." Traffic back up fuh days and roads dig up all over the place. We did getting work late anyhow, but now we got a nice excuse... :D. There should be a central body which regulates road works more effectively. I mean, one week C&W dig up a road, and cover it back and pave it sweet sweet... 2 weeks later, road dig up again. Men does just dig at will, no consideration for nobody... dust in yuh eye, car nasty, shoes look like yuh does work in a heroine factory. Yuh try to avoid de road works, make two nasty little turns, down through an alley and *poof*... back pon gravel again. I guess this is the price you pay for progress. Its like they are purposely trying to torment the bajan public. Ok boys, we got 5 cables to lay down on Bay Street. Leh we screw the people over.. we gine lay down one, cover up, dig up again next week and laydown another one.. ahh yesssss, now watch those plebeians squirm. Of course dem driving thru wid dem big jeeps with the windows roll up and kicking up debris in yuh face, leffing de poor man dat drivin an Alto literally eating their dust. But don't worry, when dem got de road block up, it is de poor man pon de bicycle that does skate through.

*After reading this post, 3,912 persons will get to work late due to road works. However 2,831 of these persons will avoid being axed since as government workers, it is already the accepted norm.
