Smooth sailing for City project

Funny Barbados News Blog Bridgetown CareenageTHE $14 MILLION REDEVELOPMENT of the Careenage area is on track – and within budget.
Word of this came from programme director of the Barbados Tourism Investment (BTI) Inc., Charles Holder, when the City of Bridgetown's Member of Parliament, Dame Billie Miller, toured the project yesterday.
"We are still, relatively speaking, (within budget)," Holder told the media. "At the end of January, our expenditure on the project was about $9 million, including VAT (Value Added Tax)," he reported. Source:www.NationNews.com
Ahh yes... as smooth as a teenager's face... well, as one gallimaufry would say, how does one stay relatively within budget... relative to what? I could understand if she said 'considering'.. you know, Considering we are incompetent and like to waste public funds... taking into Consideration that somebody's hand is usually greased to lag and dilly dally on the project... (i gine see pedestals, paling, a kitchen sink and a living room suite end up on the expenses list just now)... Within budget CONSIDERING that in the past, public showers cost more than a 3 bedroom house! Ohh.. ok.. well, if you put it THAT way, I guess it makes sense. Make sure you have another 2 million available to fix and replace the rotting, mash up planks and ropes on the board walk (and replace 342 lady's high heel shoes)... gotta fix it up good before tourisses come. such a ditz...
